Now that my pal Sabrina is heading back to America, I'm taking on some small responsibilities for the org she was working with, The UAPO.

It's a great organization that helps empower Ugandans through various projects. In addition to facilitating income generating programs (jewelry and craft making), they also provide clean water sources and access to health services. I'll be doing some light bookkeeping in the north to help support local women weaving grass mats that will later be made into handbags and sold internationally. This project provides the 33 women involved with a steady income they'd otherwise be without.
I accompanied Sabrina on her last trip to see the women in the north, and then to Jinja, where the organization's Ugandan headquarters are located. We did a little work and had a lot of fun relaxing at 'the source of the Nile.'
